Carters Clothes Update

It only took a matter of days to get my package from Carters. There were 2 letters apologizing for the inconvenience of these clothes, a pre-paid envelope to return the clothes in, and a duck stuffed animal for Weston. It was really nice of them. I haven't sent any clothes back yet...so I can't update on the quckness or slowness of the transaction. But in a couple of weeks I am having a yard sale with my sister in law so I will be going back through all of Autumns old clothes to see if I want to sell any, and while going through them I will check all the labels (I have boxes upon boxes of her clothes and I am dreading this) because I feel silly sending back just one item when it's a big envelope.

Carter's Clothes Advisory

I heard about this and I finally found the site link for it!What I know: Carters 2007 fall line of clothes had new tagless tags on their shirts (photo above). Some kids ended up breaking out and having reactions to some of the chemicals used in these "tags." There was no recall issued, but an advisory. Carters is taking the clothes back, no questions asked, and offering a full refund. The coolest part is they reimburse the suggested retail price, not the sale price you paid for it (if you bought it when it was on sale or clearance). So they don't need any reciepts or anything. They send you a pre-paid envelope to put your items in and once they get the clothes from you they mail you a check.

In Spring 2008 they released a line of clothes with their new tagless tags that looks like this:I called earlier this week about a shirt that I have with the 2007 tagless tag, she asked if my son had wore it and I said no, it was a hand-me-down and that his older sister has sensitive skin so I haven't wanted to "test" it on Weston. She said that it was no big deal and would have the envelope out in the next days mail. She also took down Westons name and is sending him a stuffed animal. Also, when I stated that I was calling in reference to the recall she quickly corrected me that it was an advisory, not a recall. (And I have offered to send my friend the check, since she is the one who gave me the shirt, but she is refusing...and her kids haven't had any reactions to the tags so she isn't bothering to call or return the articles of clothes she still has.)

Anyways- times are hard, and so some people could really use the extra money from their kids old clothes, or maybe your kids have suffered from this "chemical burn" or maybe your like me and you just don't want to risk it (Weston is very fair skinned and since Autumn has sensitive skin I was not going to try and risk Weston getting a rash or burn.) If you want to read more about it, check it out HERE this is their site with all the information you need.
